The Global Agricultural Innovation Forum (GFIA) revealed the details of speakers and topics to be addressed during the three-day event. The conference and exhibition will feature more than 300 advanced agricultural solutions that will shape the future of sustainable agriculture around the world.
The second edition of the forum will be held in Abu Dhabi from 9 to 11 March 2015 under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority and in a strategic partnership with the Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority.
Since its launch in 2014, the forum has attracted considerable attention by its commitment to changing the methods and mechanisms used in food production. It is currently supported by 40 of the world’s leading partners who look to use the forum as a catalyst for change as one of the most influential events in the world. And will play an active role in supporting efforts to disseminate sustainable agricultural practices. The event will be hosted by leading international and corporate speakers, including McCain Continental, the World Bank, the Rockefeller Foundation, Plantagon and the Committee on World Food Security.

The forum will feature 6 major conferences held simultaneously, with more than 250 speakers to discuss a range of key issues of relevance to the future of global agriculture and food production:
The World Climate Smart Agriculture Summit – led by the Global Alliance for Smart Agriculture is climate-friendly, and presents a study on techniques, methods and creative approaches to implementing climate-smart systems in food production.
Food and waste losses from prevention to valuation – techniques, practices and policies needed to address the challenges faced by the various stakeholders.
Sustainable Cities: Building capacity to adapt to urban agriculture – Innovations and technologies to create sustainable and climate-friendly systems for food production in urban areas around the world.
ICT for Sustainable Agriculture – Maximize the use of laptops, communication solutions and major data.
Non-conventional uses of water in dry climates – Challenges and opportunities in the extraction, production and reuse of water and agriculture.
Innovation Program – The world’s largest group of innovative and sustainable solutions in sustainable agriculture. After an evaluation of 450 participants, the Steering Committee selected a list of the top 100 submissions for the next session of the Forum; each participant will have only 15 minutes to present his idea and how it can contribute to providing food to the world population.

The Global Forum for Agricultural Innovations is sponsored by the Abu Dhabi Food Security Center, Abu Dhabi Farmers Service Center, Exeed Industries and the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry. The forum will also receive official Emirati support from the Ministry of Environment and Water, and will include a keynote speech by HE Dr Rashid Ahmed bin Fahd, UAE Minister of Environment and Water.
